Leathercloth for rear seat support

With the rear seat removed, you will find some sheets of leathercloth used to seal out drafts and fumes. The above photo shows a narrow strip used along the left and right-hand edges of the alloy panel that fits under the seat cushion. The large sheet shown below, goes behind the seat backrest, to cover up the fuel tank and all the gaps around it. The two smaller pieces attached to the lower edge, are used to cover the bolt access holes for the fuel tank.

All of the leathercloth items shown here are fixed down with bitumen (more modern adhesives would be preferable now), and the larger cloth is also tacked to the wood frame cross-member along its upper edge.
