Rear headcloth

The rear head cloth surrounds the rear window area, and needs to be fitted before the main headcloth. The rear windows should also be installed after this cloth, as its edges go in between the window seal rubbers and the wooden body framework. The photo above shows the normally hidden side of the cloth, with the top edge nearest the camera. You can see several flaps sewn onto it for tacking onto the wood frame.
Note that this is the earlier version of rear headcloth fitted to cars up to about 1949/50. Later versions included improved access to the trafficators. Access to trafficators through these early cloths was only possible by removing tacks and pins fixing the cloth and other trim!
