Battery tray
This is a lead battery tray to catch any acid spills which may corrode the aluminium bulkhead. Note that the lead itself may cause corrosion if rain water leaks passed the bonnet rubber. The tray measures approx. 16.75" x 7.25" (42.5 x 18.5cm) internally. The original battery had a mounting flange at each end (at the top) so that long threaded rods could fasten it down. The length of these rods will accommodate a battery up to 7.5" (19cm) tall.
