Aluminium cross-member
This cross-member is bolted to the chassis (via steel brackets) and to the hinge-pillar steel brackets. It supports the rear seat and rear floor panelling. The black paint spread on its front side is bitumen to stick carpeting to. The propellor-shaft passes through the large central hole. The 2 large bolt holes seen at each end are not original (added for seatbelt anchorage).
